Senior Employee General Ledger

Our Client develops, produces and markets ingredients and processing aids for the dairy, savoury, beverage, nutritional and animal feed markets. The Business Group consists of 5 Business Units, an Ingredients Development Unit and a number of Staff Departments. The General ledger forms together with the accounts payables/receivables and management accounting the financial department of this company. The financial department acts for on the one hand the local organization and the international Business Group on the other hand. The Business Group has 1.400 employees (of which 550 in Delft).
The challenge
Assisting in the further development and maintenance of the general ledger in such a way that it will be accurate and complete and a reliable source for all kind of financial and managerial reports. You have to act in a dynamic environment with a lot of contacts with (internal) clients and suppliers of information such as tollers, agents, producing companies, resellers and Shared Financial Services Center. Part of your challenge will be to: check and to monitor the matching between sub-ledger and specification of the general ledger, analyzing the discrepancies of them and create procedures to avoid this; to execute the period end closing activities regarding Cost Object Controlling; to analyze the efficiency results of process orders and assist in the translation of the result into management information. We expect you to assist in the corrections of the postings, periodical posting, internal allocations, changes of provisions and Pro Memory postings and check the suspense accounts (draw attention to differences or injustices with regard to tax, VAT and cost-control). As senior we expect you to assist in the co-ordination of all operational activities within the team, the prioritization, the allocation of the workload, the solution of problems, take care of and guarantee a clear separation of duties.
The Ideal
You have at least a degree on HBO level or equivalent, preferably SPD. You have at least 5 years experience in general ledger. We expect you to have gained experience in a business-to-business environment. You have experience in working with SAP. You have proven to be a reliable, assertive, high-level professional with good organizational skills. You speak and write perfect English. You have the following competences; assertiveness, communication, planning & organizing, problem analysis, staff development, initiative, adaptability, teamwork & management control. Last but not least, you have the ambition to growth in our General ledger department.
