Beschrijving functie

For this company we look for a reliability engineer.

1. Reports directly to maintenance supervisor

2. Purpose of the job

To manage the Plant improvement potential (Roles: Reliability Engineer in the ME work processes Maintenance, Improve Equipment Reliability, Improve Plant and Asset Utilization)
Assure the execution of effective technical analyses, aligned with the Business Strategy in order to optimize:
1. The Preventive Predictive Maintenance (PPM) strategies for reduction of reliability problems and to improve the equipment availability.
2. the life-cycle strategies to reduce overall costs.

Monitor the effective execution of the PPM strategies.
Act as Project Manager for modifications and Small Projects and as a technical resource for the maintenance department.

4. Job context
The reliability engineer :
Defines the optimum PPM Program, quantifying its effects on the business and presenting this program to the appropriate personnel. Acts as leader in the Criticality Ranking and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Performs the analysis for selecting the optimum PPM strategies to reduce reliability and integrity failures and sets the frequency and time window when to execute PPM plans. Responsible for grouping equipment into appropriate groups and proposes typical PPM plan solutions.
As SAP PM key-user the reliability engineer is a SAP site level representative for coordination and communication with CICT within his/her functional domain.


5. Job content
a) Key areas of accountability/responsibility

1. As reliability engineer responsible for:
•Analyzing and optimizing PPM plans based maintenance equipment history, preventive maintenance and Asset Utilization data in the “analyze work done” activity of the work process maintenance.
•Recommends improvement projects that are sent to the Improve Plant process, procedure improvements to Operate Plant process, or submits work notifications to the Maintenance Work Process.
•Grouping equipment into appropriate groups and proposes typical PPM plan solutions.
•Defining the optimum PPM program related to the business strategy and manufacturing goals
•Leading Criticality Ranking and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
•Reviewing the maintenance feed back on equipment repair and PPM maintenance orders
•Executing a RCA to find causes for reliability problem.
•Analyze KPI’s, like for instance “performance killers” and “cost-drivers”, and make proposals to improve them, again creating multidisciplinary teams for RCA/FMEA.

2. As Maintenance Accounting Reporter Responsible for:
•Reporting maintenance costs and enters budget costs to plant cost centers. Checks whether costs are allocated at the right centers.

3. As Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Plan Owner responsible for:
•Implementing PPM plans in the SAP-PM maintenance management system.
•Translating the PPM program into integrated PPM plans.
•Creating technical scope of work for PPM plans.
•Entering the integrated PPM plans in the Maintenance Management System
Supporting the analyses and optimization of PPM plans.

4. As Maintenance Master Data Administrator/ Coördinator responsible for:
•Creating, updating and changing Maintenance Master Data.

5. As SAP Plant Maintenance Key-User responsible for:
•Solving incidents
•Training (new) users
•Proposing/defining requests for change and/or business process improvements
•Executing acceptance tests on BG systems
b) Authorities
1.Stopping activities or installation components when SHEQ or the DSM standard are at stake.
2.Access to all plant data
3.Propose improvements
4.Resets and unlocking passwords of all SAP Apollo user in HvH

c) Projects/special assignments
1.As SAP PM Key-user participating in BG projects
2.Implementation of Manufex IER work processes

7. Complexity of the job

•Position is a combination of several roles.
•Balancing between short term and long term priorities (daily cycle versus improve cycle).
•Implementation of standard work processes, standard tools and reporting systems. Development and improvement of these processes on the basis of experience.
•Frequent contacts with all other disciplines
•Frequent contacts with other DSM sites in Europe (Maintenance User Group/ European SAP PM network)
•Needs to influence people and processes through a very convincing and professional attitude.
•Has to create and facilitate multidisciplinary teams with various assignments.
•Many interfaces with technical and technological specialists, production personal, R&D, finance and control, Business Management, etc. Internal as well as external.


8. Knowledge and educational level

•Knowledge and experience on HBO level.
•Knowledge and experience in maintenance technology.
•Knowledge of standardization and DSM-requirements
•Knowledge of the DSM-organization.
•Knowledge van Maintain Facility en Improve Equipment Reliability work processes
•Train the trainer (Apollo standard)
•To follow SAP Plant Maintenance training on processes and systems (permanent education)
•Knowledge of RCA and FMEA technology.

9. Required level of experiences

•At least 5 years experience in a chemical production environment
•At least 5 years experience in a maintenance department or environment
•At least 2 years experience with SAP PM
•Experience with the Manufex work processes
